The Story of Transformation and Becoming
Once upon a time, there lived a little caterpillar named Lucy.
Every morning, Lucy would wake up and go eat leaves, just like all the other caterpillars. She would spend the whole day eating leaves, from morning until evening, and then go to sleep. The next morning, she would wake up, and everything would begin again.
One day, Lucy was sitting on a leaf when a gust of wind lifted the leaf into the air—and Lucy flew with it.
In that moment, she experienced an unforgettable feeling of happiness, freedom, and joy.
That flight changed Lucy’s life.
She no longer wanted to eat leaves. She wanted to FLY.
From then on, Lucy spent every day looking for leaves that were ready to break free. She would climb onto them and wait for the breeze to carry her away.
All the other caterpillars said she had gone crazy.
“You are supposed to eat leaves,” they told her. “You are a caterpillar. Your job is to eat leaves.”
But Lucy didn’t listen to anyone. All she wanted was to fly.
Eventually, other caterpillars appeared who wanted to fly too. Together, they had some of the best and happiest moments of their lives.
And then, one day, Lucy felt that something was different.
She felt that she needed to climb onto a branch and form a cocoon.
She was terrified.
She didn’t know what was waiting for her. She couldn’t understand what would happen next. She couldn’t control it or see the future. But deep inside, she felt that she had to do it.
So Lucy climbed onto a branch and formed her cocoon.
And there she remained for some time.
When Lucy finally emerged from the cocoon, she looked at the beautiful world around her. She stretched her little legs, her arms—and then her wings.
Wings!
She turned around and saw them behind her.
She could hardly believe her eyes.
She had become a BUTTERFLY.
That was why she had always loved flying on leaves. She had been born to become a butterfly.
And then she flew.
She flew over fields and meadows, feeling the joy of freedom and the beauty of the world around her.
She was happy.
The meadow where she had once lived had transformed too. Hundreds of butterflies now flew above it.
And from above, the meadow was breathtaking.
A beautiful diversity of flowers, butterflies, birds, and bees stretched out beneath her.
Lucy was happy.
And she knew that new adventures were waiting for her.
This is a story about the transformations we go through in our lives.
We are all afraid to enter our own cocoon because we don’t know what will happen next. We cannot control everything that is happening. We cannot predict the future.
But sometimes, we have to enter the cocoon anyway—even when we are afraid.
Because what would happen to a caterpillar that decided never to become a butterfly?
